Enjoy A Friday Night Out!

Postby Lindley on Tue Sep 09, 2008 10:37 am

Finding reliable (and affordable!) babysitting these days can be quite a challenge, but all of us parents could use a quiet dinner alone once in a while. The Learning Adventure Center in Lafayette offers a fun and unique childcare opportunity in their Friday Nite Kids. The first and third Friday of every month, they host a pizza party combined with a laptop computer adventure specially designed for kids age 3-9. You drop your kids off at 6 pm and come pick them up at 8 pm (where they will be fed, exercised, mentally stimulated, entertained and ready for bed!).

We took my son (almost 4 years old) this past Friday and he was excited because he had a blast at one of their computer camps last month and my husband and I were excited because we love the friendly teachers there and we were really looking forward to heading just down the road to enjoy one of Flatiron Crossings' many dining venues in peace! So I can't personally attest to what the children spent those 2 hours doing, but my son reported a game of limbo, a version of musical chairs, traveling to "Email Trail" for a computer adventure, juice and pizza (where he was allowed to skip the crust) and something about a moving carpet. He said he learned to find certain keys on the computer and that it was the "bestest eating pizza and playing computers" that he had ever done. We also observed one father who arrived for pick-up 5 minutes early being immediately shooed away by his kids because they wanted to get the full 2 hours of fun!

This unique childcare opportunity costs only 20.00 (only 10.00 more for each additional sibling) and is limited to 15 kids so I suggest calling or going online early to reserve your spot- next Friday Nite Kids is Sept. 5th! For more info:
