I have two very active little boys, so coming up with new ways for them to burn off some energy can be a challenge. We recently checked out some of the many different activities offered by Xtreme Altitude Gymnastics (they have two locations- the Flatirons Gymnastics Center in Broomfield and another larger location in Lafayette). My 2-year-old and I checked out the Mornings for Moms in Lafayette, offered Monday through Thursday from 9:30-11 am. This is a preschool supervised open gym for kiddos that can walk through age 6 and there is also a snack provided, as well as free coffee for the parents. My son jumped in the inflatables, played with huge bouncy balls, walked on balance beams, swung on ropes and rings and had a blast in the giant foam pit. The coaches were all very friendly and kept a great eye on all the kids and interacted with everybody. Some moms participated and some moms took a break in the lobby area, but all the kids were obviously having a blast in this gigantic playground.
My 6-year-old participated in the Boys Gym Adventures classes for kids in grades K-8 at the Broomfield location. The class size was great for him to get a lot of attention and instruction (less than 10 little boys) and the coaches were all very fun and energetic. My son learned some new skills and had a great time tumbling, jumping on the tramp, doing tricks on the bar and enjoying some fun time in the foam pit. Stretching and being safe on the equipment was a priority and he worked up a quite a sweat every week! I also really appreciated that there was a box of toys and books in the lobby area to help keep all the younger siblings entertained during practice.
Not only does Xtreme Altitude provide a range of classes (during the day for under age 4 and late afternoon/evening for older kids) for both boys and girls of all ability-levels, but they also offer Mornings for Moms, Parents Night Out and a variety of birthday party packages.
