At Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je, the counselor to camper ratio is an impressive 1:4, and counselors benefit from a week-long intensive training session, specific to the area they will be working in and how to deal with camper issues such as homesickness and discipline. Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je looks for spiritually mature 18-25 year olds when they hire their summer staff of 120-140. About 50% of their counselors return year after year, and they are sad to see their college seniors head off to careers in their fields or grad school! The camp director's background is in adventure camps, which lends itself well to the activities offered at Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je.
Does your child have food allergies or require special medication? No need to worry when you send your campers to Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je! They are equipped to accommodate both of these issues, and say that there are quite a few campers every summer that require special attention in these areas.
Want to see Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je firsthand? The staff is excited to invite you and your family to their FREE Chuckwagon Cook-Out on May 15th, from 10AM to 3PM! Each year, 800-1000 people attend this fun event, and discover the appeal of Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je. Come enjoy a free lunch, a carnival atmosphere and a live and silent auction! Proceeds from the carnival and auctions benefit a scholarship program for inner city kids to attend summer camp.
