Scout Show is an Adventure!!!

Postby ceece on Sun Apr 17, 2011 10:10 pm

WOW!!!! Have you ever been to the Scout Show? Every April, the Denver Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America hosts a carnival-like event for kids and adults alike...if you have never been, you should go!

For just $10 per family (which includes a discount card with lots of reusable coupons!), you and your family can enjoy a fun-filled adventure. With over 100 booths offering a different activity, craft, or learning opportunity, there is never a dull moment at the show! You won't be able to hit every booth, even if you wanted to! There are activities for all age groups, so feel free to bring your whole family.

A small sampling of the booths at this year's show:

    Marbles!
    Marshmallow Mayhem Returns!
    Snowshoes
    Dutch Oven Desserts
    Indoor Astronomy
    Jungle Safari
    Box Hockey
    Obstacle Course
    Inflatable Fire House
    Hawkquest

Food is available throughout the show, including several restaurant-like venues. Bathrooms are plentiful, and most areas are stroller accessible. Need to buy camping gear? Look no further! Deeply discounted merchandise is available, too! Need Scout stuff for your kiddo? Shop at the show! Want to sign up for camp? No need for a stamp...you can do it here!

The bottom line - you cannot find this kind of fun at this great of a price for your family! The Scout Show should NOT be missed!

Mark your calendars for Scout Show 2012!

We attended the 2012 Boy Scout Show at the Denver National Western Stock Show Complex with our two sons (ages 7 and almost 3) and learned a lot about the many activities and programs that sponsor and support the Boy Scouts of America. As mentioned, the price of $10 per family is a great deal considering the value of the reusable discount card you receive. Plus, there are tons of fun things to do, including free games with prizes, shopping and demonstrations. Not only were there over 100 different booths from various vendors and Boy Scout troops based all over Colorado, but the police and fire departments were also on-hand with their equipment, K-9 units, an obstacle course and more.

My children particularly enjoyed the Pinewood Derby tracks, free popcorn and the archery and shooting stations. There was a lot of information about scouting, camping and a number of other camps and events coming up in Colorado. Most of the booths had some sort of interactive piece and the people were all very nice. There were plenty of food options, including free samples at several of the booths.

Be sure to check out next year's event in April of 2013. For more info on events and activities, visit:
