| Denver Children's Theater at the MACC Email Us Map It
The Denver Children’s Theatre (DTC), a company of adult professional actors performing works for school groups and families, received the Henry Award (Colorado’s Tony Award) for “Outstanding Children’s Theatre” and was named “Top Children’s Theater” by the Rocky Mountain News. DTC school group productions offer ample opportunities for integrating theatre and visual arts into an investigation of language arts and social studies. A curriculum guide, distributed to all participating teachers, is appropriately keyed to Colorado Model Content Standards. Optional Encore! Workshops follow immediately after the performance. Working in small groups with professional arts educators (often actors from the production), children engage in specially designed theatre activities that help them to take ownership of the concepts behind the play through a variety of learning modes.
