This past weekend, we took the kids to Melting Pot Littleton for a four course meal. I know that taking 3 kids ages 7 and under to a fancy restaurant sounds like a crazy idea, but it was so much fun! We made a reservation for their Superhero Sunday event. It takes place on their Powerful Patio and is filled with other families who don’t mind being seated next to kids. My husband and I love fondue, but this was the kids first experience at a fondue restaurant.
I love dressing up for this type of event (and costumes were encouraged!) So, Kanyon is Dash from the Incredibles, Viktoria is Spidergirl and Rebekka is Supergirl. Luckily, I had an Incredibles shirt (from Halloween last year) and my husband found a Spiderman t-shirt.
Here’s Viktoria after we were seated. “Why do we need so many forks?” The kids received some crayons and mazes to keep them occupied until our order was taken.
Superhero Photo Op at Melting Pot Littleton!
Spiderman and Miss Captain America dropped by to say hello while we were waiting on our first course. They were so friendly and encourages the kids to eat their veggies…wink, wink!
First was the cheese fondue, and it was a major hit with the kids! For dipping, vegetables included cauliflower, brocolli and carrots. We also had apples and breads.
You know it’s good when you end up with cheese on your chin!
We had a choice of several salads or a fruit cup for the second course.
The superheroes stopped by to visit and sign autographs between courses.
She was being a bit shy at first, but even Rebekka got an autograph!
She’s ready for the entree portion.
For our third course, we had shrimp, colorful ravioli, chicken, pork, beef, mushrooms, potatoes, broccoli and a bunch of really tasty sauces! !
After the entree portion, Rebekka started to get a little restless, so we visited the photo op and walked around a bit. She is at that tough age where she doesn’t always want to sit still in restaurants. I loved that it was outdoors and there was a little room to roam. It made dining out with a toddler much easier!
Right before dessert, there was a superhero dance party. It was excellent timing for my kids and a perfect break from sitting.
The Chicken Dance
The Hokey Pokey
After the dance party, all of the superheroes posed for a picture. We said goodbye to Spiderman and Miss Captain America as they left to fight some crime!
Luckily, chocolate fondue was a great reason to head back to the table for our final course. I couldn’t snap a picture quite fast enough before my kids nabbed the marshmallows coated in graham crackers! We also had strawberries, bananas, pineapple, cake, brownies and more.
Just before we left, Rebekka started to get fussy. A balloon animal appeared like magic and all was well. I love how the staff was so helpful and friendly. We had a great time and will definitely be back. I loved having a nice meal where the kids were kept entertained and happy!
Superhero Sunday is $35 for adults and $14.95 for kids. Children under 3 are free. If you’re interested in checking it out for yourself, make sure to call ahead! Reservations are required! They also offer Fondue Fairytales on certain Sundays if you have princess fans at home!
