Today I loaded up the kids and took a fun field trip to Morrison, CO to visit dinosaur ridge. Today's weather could not have been more perfect weather for this little excursion.
We got to take a fun filled bus tour up the mountain, we checked out the indoor museum, went panning for gems and rocks in the sluice box and hung out with all the amazing painted dinosaurs around the property. (My little girl of course found the only pink dinosaur there!)
To say we had a good time would be an understatement! First up was the bus tour. We literally had the most amazing guide named Thor who was just as excited to give the tour as we were to take it! I even learned some good stuff while listening to the rich dinosaur history of colorado. We got to get out and check out real dinosaur footprints, and even climb on some of them!
The bus tour was about a 45 minute tour but it seemed like 1o minutes since we were having to much fun! I am considering having my son's birthday party here because he did not want to leave and can't wait to go back!
The Shuttle Bus is available for boarding hourly beginning at 10AM at the Visitor Center for 40-minute guided tours of Dinosaur Ridge. The last bus leaves at approximately 4PM (May-October) and 3PM (November-April). During the peak season (June-August), shuttle buses run approximately every half hour from 10AM-4PM. The cost is only $5 per person with kids 3 and under free. This is the tour we did and loved it! I would get there early because once we left, it got packed!
