We are so thankful for our wonderful friends and clients who helped pull off our first annual event. We collected gifts for 34 children in foster care in Weld County, and had a wonderful time visiting and enjoying fall festivities together.

The party was a blast.

We had corn hole, a piñata, a bouncy house, and pumpkin painting stations set up in our backyard, as well as our swing set and toys for everyone to enjoy. Over a week later, our son is still talking about having friends over to play.

We also had a dear friend, Megan Grove of Everlasting Moments come to capture a family photo for our guests at the party. These are some of my favorites, but there were so many great ones it was hard to choose!

Looking at these smiling faces, I want to pause and just express how truly grateful I am for each of you who came and donated a gift. You are helping to make Christmas possible for children in foster care this year who might not otherwise have a gift. {Insert big hugs here}

We managed to get a couple of good ones of our family while we were at it! Apparently having a bouncy house to go play on afterwards is an effective way to get toddlers to cooperate.

I don't think I've done a printed invitation since our wedding, but these hand-painted invitations by Holly R Creative in Denver were just too perfect. They turned out beautifully and it was a pleasure to work with a local artisan!

Words can't express how much respect I have for Toilynn Edwards and Rebecca Lorenz, who are among the most generous and kind-hearted people I have ever met. It has been an honor to work with them on the Foster Care Christmas Parties for Weld County the last few years. Ladies, you are my heroes!

As guests arrived and dropped off their donations, I had each place an elegant, aspen leaf card with their name on the tree.  Four13Designs, another Colorado small business, was kind enough to make these cards and string them on gold ribbon like ornaments for us.

It warmed my heart to see how many kiddos helped with this symbolic step as they learned about caring for and helping others in need. One little boy explained to me that "these are for the kids with no mamas" as he helped carry a gift.

I somehow only managed to get pictures of the sweets, but look how pretty they are!

Outside, we had a gourmet s'mores bar with every kind of chocolate and flavored marshmallow combination you could want, as well as a caramel apple bar. I have talked about Sweet Addict on this blog before, but if you haven't tried her caramel sauces yet you don't know what you're missing. The pecan pie caramel sauce was a favorite with our guests!

We had snickerdoodle, white chocolate macadamia (my favorite), chocolate chip and gluten-free chocolate chip cookies from Viv's Infamous Cookies that were just out of this world. Chewy and delicious, I secretly wanted to hide a stash to keep for myself for later!

My sweet neighbor and founder of Treats 4 Ta-Tas, Stacey Dixon made the cake pops and gorgeous sugar cookies which were so beautifully decorated it almost seemed wrong to eat them! Almost. I am blown away by the heart on this woman. 100% of her proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research, without so much as a deduction for ingredients. How incredible is that?

Not pictured here, but also incredibly delicious were the pulled pork and brisket sandwich bar from Nordy's BBQ and Grill in Loveland, which happens to be one of our family's favorite restaurants. I was told by several people that it was the best pulled pork they had ever tasted.

Beverages were provided by our friends at the Humphries team at Cornerstone Home Lending. Thank you for the great beers and supporting this cause with us!

Thank you to all the wonderful local businesses who helped support us in this party by providing their products at a discount, and for those who donated to the cause!
