Disclaimer: I got to check out Archery Games Denver, free of charge, but all opinions are my own.
Sign up me! Archery Games Denver is going to be the new go to hot spot for my family! We have searched for fun places to host birthday parties or a place where my kids can run out some energy on school breaks and we found Archery games! As you know I am a PE teacher and am not allowed to play dodgeball in my classes anyone. My classes were devastated. Ok, devastated might be a little dramatic but they sure were sad when I told them our district no longer allows it.
Imagine a safe place where your kids or families can play Archery Dodgeball. I wasn't quite sure what to expect and had no idea what to tell my kids this would be like but they LOVED it. And let me put my two cents in about what us mom's will love about it. It's SO clean, there are these fantastic wooden tables, we can sit with our friends and drink coffee while our kids are running around! However, when I saw how much fun my kids were having, I had to join!
You start off with some instruction, then they get you fitted for arm guards and face masks. It takes a little bit of practice to learn how to shoot these bows so they give you some practice before the games begin.
Next you enter the arena and you play a couple warm up games. The first few games, no one gets out and you just get used to using the bows and all the rules. And if you were worried these arrows might be a little aggressive, I got hit multiple times and it didn't hurt! Multiple as in, I was always the first person out. I think my boys had it out for me! As a mom, I was concerned about safety but after reading up on their website and going through their safety procedures, I felt as ease. And for their arrows, check out this "Engineered and manufactured in Germany, our arrows have undergone extensive safety tests, strain calculations and material checks. First used for "Live Action Role Playing", they've had over 10 years of safe use around the world. Each arrow combines an injection molded pressure distributor with multiple layers of foam to safety distribute and absorb the force of the arrow. "
Also don't worry if you have zero archery experience. I am probably the least experienced bow shooter you will ever meet and I got the hang of it.
They had a ton of games to play and towards the end, you have the choice to play elimination games, however most of the games did have a way to get back in the game. I don't know if I could choose my favorite game because they were all fun. Also I didn't expect how much of a workout this could be! If your looking for something to do with your kids that is active and isn't jumpstreet, this is the ticket! Go here for more info!
They just opened their doors in October so support a small business and try this out. This is great for open play, kids birthday parties (there is an age limit FYI) bachelor/bachelorette parties, team building and more!
