Ice Castles is an amazing place with unique designs. The castles are totally built by hand, adding 5000 icicles each day by harvesting and sculpting them together.

Each completed Ice Castle offers 20,000,000 pounds of ice to explore. You can walk, squeeze, slide and crawl!

WE had the opportunity to visit Ice Castles yesterday in New Hampshire. The drive was spectacular - we just love driving up to the mountains. It doesn't matter how often we go there, we are always left in awe of the natural beauty. And every day the mountains look different - nothing is ever the same so how can it possibly get old.
The day was gorgeous - still quite cold but the sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky. Of course that meant that Ice Castles was packed! On our way up to New Hampshire from Connecticut we stopped at a rest area and ran into a couple from Massachusetts that was headed to the same place. Remarkably, we ended up at the same restaurant, then at Ice Castles at the same time. It was quite eery. The restaurant we went to was actually quite out of the way and off the straight path to Ice Castles... Yeah, that restaurant I will cover in a separate post.
Here are some photos from Ice Castles - absolutely stunning and really in a place like that it is difficult to take a poor picture. We went during the day because we had a very long drive to get back home afterwards. But the evening has lighting displays - next time will definitely need to be at night.
