Join CU Wizards Professor David Nesbitt for "The Chemistry of Cooking & Art of Making Fine Cheese!" You'll learn secrets for a perfect pie crust how to cook scrambled eggs without heat, make yummy homemade cheese or how to reverse the entropy in your hot cocoa! Numerous great demos & kid volunteers at this lively, family friendly free STEM show! For over 35 years, CU Wizards welcomes students grades k-12 to CU Boulder for great STEM shows! Location of February 2020 show: CU Boulder, Cristol Chemistry Room 140 show runs from 9:30-10:10 a.m.
Science Matters presents "Space Adventures". What do we know about space? From gravity to wind to chemical reactions, outer space is a very different place from Earth. Learn about the properties of space, see how rockets make it to space, make a comet out of dry ice, and explore a non-Newtonian substance!
Saturday, February 22, from 7p to 9p, we will use Nerf guns to play crazy fun games all around the facility. We do have safety goggles that everyone will be required to wear and coaches will lead the session. Ages 8+!
We will MAX OUT at 40 participants so sign up ahead of time.
Some games include Capture the Flag, Freeze tag, skills games, Alien Invasion, Nerf Quidditch.
You are not allowed to bring your own Nerf gun so please leave them at home.
Sensory Friendly Playtime is a low sensory event for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders to explore the Museum without the noise, crowds, and stimulation of a typical day. WOW! will limit admission to 20 families, turn down sounds and lights, and provide adaptive equipment to offer a safe and fun experience for all!
